Do people go on blind dates set up by your friends?

I'm going on a date next week set up by a female mate without knowing anything about the girl I'm seeing other than a photo of her and only what shes told me about her.

I haven't spoken to her myself, the photo doesn't tell anything about her.
Yeah but the whole thing about a blind date is that you don't even know if they are good looking. If you've already seen a pic of her then at least you know you can find her physically attractive.
