LPC at a uni i.e. Cardiff, as opposed to bog standard London CoL/BPP?

I'm midway through a law degree at Uni of Leeds and pretty much assumed I'd do my LPC nearer home in London. However a day or 2 ago, out of my own curiosity, I researched and found that some big universities actually offer the LPC. There are some ex-polys, but one that seemed quite enticing is Cardiff. It seems that there are 180 places which is a fair number, and it's tied into the university obviously.

Has anyone thought about, or done their LPC at university as opposed to College of Law or BPP? I find it quite a cool prospect to do another year at university and experience another city with all the social/extra-curricular benefits that it provides, instead of doing nothing but home to BPP to home, more work, gym and maybe some sport occasionally, while being alone a lot of the time. A few people I know who have done their LPC have mentioned being very bored and bogged down, although saving up on living costs.

Anyone got any ideas? Does it matter where you do it otherwise?
