Why are guys bothered to text a girl everyday?

I'm a girl and I can't be asked to text my friends everyday as I find it tiring. But there's this guy that I've recently started talking to in uni class and we exchanged numbers. He's been texting me everyday since then and it's been a couple months now.

We both have trouble sleeping so we text at night/early morn but he would text during the day too.

It's not that I mind, I've never really met anyone that can be bothered to text everyday so a little puzzled :confused:

Do guys normally do this? How can u be bothered to text every single day, multiple times a day?

And to those that may say it's romantic, I made it clear at the start that it's platonic. Thank you :smile:
Maybe he just generally likes talking to you, and wants to make an effort.
Friendships do tend to work that way, OP :biggrin:

I never thought guys put that much effort into things like this. Especially since I'm not the everyday texting kinda gal lmao. Maybe I shouldn't see everyone being like me :tongue:
