How does a uni post-grad become a social animal?

Teach a n00b who only started drinking recently after graduating, with one more year left of my post-grad next year.
Talk to people. Join societies. Go to parties. Don't sit at home posting on TSR all night like I do

In my experience, postgrads tend to be less about a drink-based social life. Too busy and not enough money compared to undergrads. My postgrad peer group did things like beach trips, walks and barbecues, with a party at Christmas. Plenty of folks didn't drink either by inclination or necessity, so I couldn't say that anything was particularly alcohol-fuelled. Even the Christmas party was more about food than drink - a buffet event where everyone brought a dish to share.

By all means get more involved in any organised postgrad events, join societies etc., but I doubt that your new-found drinking skills will be of much use at this point unless you roll up your sleeves and get messy with the undergrads.

I got enough cash, and should be back playing sport which is socially largely drinking based and my course is not as intense as I thought it was. Got so much free time! Just want to use up that time I'm just chilling doing nothing and be more social.
