Dissertation Acknowledgements...

I'm just about there with my dissertation now and the final part I need to add in is my acknowledgements.

I'm struggling with how to word it without sounding mega cheesy.
I would like to acknowledge my supervisor, my family and friends, and somehow make reference to my nana who passed away last year, as I know how proud she would be of me.

Has anybody any advice?

Thanks!
Just keep it simple, and short. In mine, I just wrote something like 'firstly I would like to thank my supervisor Dr X, for his patience and guidance'. Then I mentioned another lecturer who helped, and two friends who had proofread the draft. Then finally I had something like 'for their constant encouragement, many thanks to my parents'. Here you could possibly include something about your nan, with something like a dedication or a thank-you to a 'very much missed Nana', or similar.

Acknowledgements are nearly always cheesy, and for undergraduate dissertations they should definitely be kept short - no paragraphs of gushing!
