Source Question - Entente CordialeWatch
Doing a "exam-style" question from my AQA History (History B) Textbook... This source question really is woeful... I have attached an image of the source.
The question: Source A is a British Cartoon published in 1905 making fun of German arrogance at the Entente Cordiale between France and Britain.
Source A suggests reasons for Britain ending its splendid isolation by making the Entente Cordiale with France in 1904.
Do you agree that these were the main reasons for ending splendid isolation?
Explain your answer by referring to the purpose of the source as well as using its content and your knowledge.
After a long time of great staring and puzzling, I have only drawn two things...
The German "pirate" is like a hidden threat, waiting to challenge the Entente Cordiale.
1905- 1st Moroccan Crisis? But the question asks about 1904...
And what does "making fun of German arrogance at the Entente Cordiale" mean? As far as I know there is no German arrogance towards the Ent.-Cord. , it simply is intent on challenging it...
As for the source suggesting reasons as to why GB abandons splendid isolation... I can't see any...
