Working abroad in Summer?

Hi

So to try and make it as concise as possible:
- I am a 17 year old girl from the UK
- My family have a holiday home in Paphos Cyprus
- I am considering spending the Summer there this year, but only for 5 weeks
- I would like a casual part-time job in waiting tables or whatnot
- My family know most of the managers of local restaurants and bars and are good friends with them all so I have some contacts

From this information, I have two main questions. Do you think they would give me a job casually? It is the tourism sector after all so most staff seem to be casual, and my family know them well. Secondly, would I need a work permit for this?

Thank you
I have no idea Rachel, but I love having irl friends on tsr. Also, you don't speak greek....

As do I… Marion, is it? Mary? Miriam? Miranda? You're a funny guy.
And you don't need to speak Greek, tons of the people working in the restaurants in Paphos are struggling with their native language of English, never mind Cypriot Greek.

Haha, you're a funny guy too! Great!

Seriously though, sounds like fair work experience (you can practise the local language and put it on your PS for applications), although are you sure you couldn't go somewhere like France or Spain which would be more relevant?
