Gay / LGBT MUSLIMS support thread.

Hello, after reading a few post here on TSR on the subject homosexuality.
many here seem to be divided of this issue, I myself didn't think you could identify as muslim and gay, but to my suprise there is a growing support out there for gay rights for muslims and there are alot of lgbt muslims that need support.

I myself am straight, I'm also ex-muslim, but I support equal rights for all. I'm going to post a series of videos of brave lgbt muslims and supporters.

for Lgbt muslims here, this website is for you

For me it's a personal thing, so I really don't make a big deal out of it. I've only told 2 people, and don't intend on telling anyone else

Like any religious text, people come with their own preconceived ideas and then find passages to support their beliefs. Hence the Bible for instance has been used to support the beliefs of the Slave owners and the beliefs of Martin Luther King.

It is interesting to see how different cultures have adapted Islam. In Indonesia for example, there exists a third gender known as Waria. Indonesia is the largest Muslim country in the world, and yet we see they have a "Miss Waria Indonesia" contest, essentially, "Miss Transgender Indonesia".

So, if many people within a largely Muslim country such as Indonesia are able to accept waria, then I don't see it as unfathomable that views towards homosexuality among Muslim populations could also adapt.

1) I knew since I was 10. Suppressed for 8 years finally accepted it

2) out to my best friends not family. They were really cool about it and couldn't care less.

3) it's tough. Ngl. Only come out when: a) you have friends who will support you and accept you b) when you can support yourself financially - this is why I'm not out to my family

My situation is slightly different to most. Yes I'm Muslim but I have absolutely nothing to do with the community or my extended family. I never had to worry about my "community" hating me because I was never a part of it in the first place.

I am pretty certain I have seen him in real life :holmes: After flicking through his channel, I stumbled upon a video with him and his boyfriend (who also happens to look familiar) and in that video they happen to be in same borough as me.
