I've looked at mark schemes for Section B of the language paper and it mentions using satire and irony.

Now I know what those two things are but how can I implement it into a writing piece without sounding like I am taking the piss out of the examiner?

Just try to include humour and try to not over do it I guess. To be honest, I'm sure that the examiners love to mark work which is satirical or ironical because they stand out from the rest and are usually hilarious
