Would of took a picture but cant seem to upload the file for some reason. Thank you for the help beforehand, appreciate it. If you do answer please dumb it down as much as possible, i for the life of me cannot understand the markscheme. i asked my teacher to help me out on this question on january but she told we arent on this topic yet so i dont need to worry about it but now its a month before my exams and i have no clue how to answer it.

b)i) 3 and 4 produce an affected child, but they are unaffected meaning they must be carriers. You can carry a recessive gene but not a dominant one.

ii) if it was carried on the X chromosome, then 3 would have to be affected, as they are male (XY), in order to produce affected offspring eg 9 and 11. There would be nothing on the Y chromosome to counteract the recessive trait.
