Why are Celtic hated so much?

That Legia story was hilarious. They brought on a suspended player, did they just expect to get let off unpunished? I agree that getting disqualified from the competition was harsh as it was obviously an honest mistake, they were 6-1 up on aggregate with a couple of minutes to go. It's not as if it had a massive effect on the tie. Still though, they ****ked up themselves and then tried to blame Celtic and UEFA, comical stuff.

Yeah, it was a really dumb mistake on the part of Legia, but there was a nearly identical case a few years ago and the club involved went unpunished - in this case though it seemed like someone wanted Celtic to enter the next stage because, well, they'll probably generate more income to the sponsors etc... Dumb of Legia though, yeah.

Some parts are in English I think, you can try to Google Translate the rest.
I'm not going to argue etc. though, it's just something I've seen on the Internet.

I don't know about your British resentments but I'm Polish and they've got some bad press after that crap with Legia.

Ludicrous to blame Celtic for Uefa's decision.

Reflected poorly on Legia to do so.

It's silly to suggest that there was some conspiracy involving UEFA and Celtic, considering Celtic's disciplinary record in Europe. They've been fined numerous times for pyro, political banners and anti UEFA banners. Celtic fans are as anti-UEFA as Legia.
I hate Celtic.

I also hate Rangers.

But, the hate is much stronger for Rangers
I'm not disputing that at all. Rangers would as well.

Their current squad wouldn't get out of the Championship never mind stay up in the PL.

Not sure if you're saying Rangers wouldn't get out of the Championship or if Rangers would do well in PL (not 100% sure what you meant)

If you meant Rangers would do well in PL.... They're fighting for promotion from the Scottish Championship, and got hammered 3-0 by QOTS the other day.. That would be questionable :P
I don't particularly care for Celtic at all. They can stay in their poverty pub league winning everything. I'd rather watch the 9th tier of English football than the SPL.

Amen. The one thing Scottish football's got going for it is team names.

Find it particularly cringeworthy when Celtic or whoever draw an English team in the CL and Sky/ITV dub it 'The Battle of Britain'. If I had been around in 1940 I'd find the use of that term downright insulting.

In regards the poppy: it was first used to remember dead soldiers in the United States, so seeing it as a British symbol is rather peculiar.

The first time the British, Canadians, Australians and Kiwis used poppies (imported from France) was in 1921, and the poppy factory in Richmond was established in 1922. The first US national use of poppies was on Memorial Day was in 1924.

It was adopted because the particularly wet northern end of the western front grew lots of poppies as a consequence of the churning it received (poppies tend to grow more profusely in disturbed earth), so it is entirely appropriate that the Commonwealth nations (and USA) use it.

Celtic fans do not engage in any sectarian singing; there are no songs sung by Celtic fans which carry slurs against Protestants. The same, however, can't be said about the fans of deidco, formerly known as R*ngers (RIP) who openly sing sectarian songs about Catholics. .

What complete and utter nonsense.

Both as bad as each other.

Find me a sectarian song sung by Celtic fans. There are plenty sung by Rangers fans which I can name.

Yes I have heard of Roamin in the Gloamin. I asked for sectarian songs sung by Celtic fans. Roamin in the Gloamin very rarely, if ever gets sung. That video was 7 years ago, since the Green Brigade have started to have a greater influence over the wider Celtic support sectarian chanting at Celtic Park and at away games doesn't happen.

To our friend who has never heard sectarian songs at Celtic.Would it be possible for you to explain roll of honour? Maybe you could explain the Bobby Sands banner when the support compared him to William Wallace......or maybe you wont

First of all Rangers are the most successful football club on the planet, never mind Scotland.
Secondly Celtic fans are absolutely vile, always singing songs glorifying a terrorist organisation responsible for many innocent deaths and singing through minutes silences for the people who died for the country they are living in(and in most cases come from)
Unless you were brought up one of them or have it in your heritage I highly doubt you've been to Parkhead, you would never go back to that dump.
