I know that quite a few people get in to without all A*s. Your grades look fine, so long as you get those As at AS. Go for it and good luck!

Does ne 1 know whether Oxford accept you if you didnt get all A*s at gcse. I got 2B's and the rest A's and A*'s and am predicted to get4 A's for AS so could some1 please help me. Tell me whether you got in without all A*'s at gcse.

Well, I didn't get all A*s and I got in.

The grades you have sound absolutely fine - I'm sure plenty of people have gotten in with lower results! I think being predicted As at A-level is more important.

I got in with 6A*s, 4As and 1B (maths!!)
Go for it, as long as you get good AS results and are predicted AAA or AAB at A-level, you stand a very good chance. Good luck!!!

That would seem unlikely. Plenty of people get in without straight A*s, 'though. 2 Bs and the rest As sounds enough.

Thanks that sounds very positive for me just i come from an independant school so does that lower my chances?

i've always thought that A levels were more important than ur GCSE's wen uni's are looking for students, is this true?
wot if u get more A's in ur A levels than ur GCSE?
would they still accept u or not? or does it all depend on ur points?

Oxford and Cambridge Do take into account GCSE grades, But if ur an able student and be able to impress them in the interview then GCSE grades won't be no problem for u. I know someone who got a A at GCSE maths and got accepted @ Cambridge to Do Mathematics!

Perhaps slightly. High GCSE grades can be won with good teaching rather than any notable degree of intelligence, so if you come from a good school good grades don't really demonstrate much.

i know that u apply wen u get ur AS levels
and i was predicted all A's which doesnt make much sense as i got 2 A's an B's at GCSE. I am also doing 3 completely different subjects that i didnt do at GCSE
howeva i did change school which has helped:smile:

wot uni's think of that?

Do you mean universities in general or Oxbridge in particular? Are you thinking of applying to Oxbridge, then?

I think some firms supposedly prefer a non-law degree and convertion course to a straight law degree - if you're thinking of practicising it might be best to take another degree.

I think I'm in a similar position I got 3A's 4B's and 4C's at GCSE but looking at all A's for my AS levels. Do I stand much of a chance?
