Sprained ankle...

Right fell down some stairs earlier (smooth move!) and because of that my ankle, KILLS! I've never really had any injury as such, so i don't know if it's sprained/twisted or i'm just weak and can't handle pain!

I can walk on it, but it kills, and i've just tried to move it in a circle motion and it really hurts when i reach to the top - so might sound stupid... but have i sprained it and should i go to the doctor?

I'm in halls atm, and the drop in centre is about a 20min walk, everyone i know is out atm, so would have to hobble on my own - but don't really want to do that if it's going to make it worse!

Sooo yeah, what should i do? Just rest it?... lol sorry, know how stupid i sound!! Thanks for any suggestions though!!

Yes you should go to the doctors, how about getting a taxi?

If it is really swollen and painful you may have a tiny tiny fracture in it which would probably be better to go to the hospital with, I fell down lecture hall stairs in my first week of uni last year, and the A&E was a 15min walk away so two mates hoisted me on shoulders and kinda dragged me there it was swollen like a football I had xrays and had to have crutches for 2weeks!

If you are in halls is there not a warden/security guard/welfare officer or similar you can ask to drive you there or help you walk there?

Oh that sounds horrible :frown: Nah it's just swollen right by the ankle - not my foot in general, but does hurt like mad!!

Just found out the doctors is shut! So will have to go to A&E, just trying to find a way to get there atm!

Call a cab, or find someone to take you.... trust me when i did my ankle a year ago, i couldnt get a lift to the docotrs/A+E, so in the end i walked to a +e, when i got there they told me i had ruptured a ligament.... a year later i still have really dodgy ankle, after a result from an mri scan i still have a partial ruprture, loose catrlidge, and stretchy ligaments :p:
So for your ankles sake, get a cab
