The level of competition here for maths is very discouraging.

Yeah the level of maths sure is high. People on the main applicants forum are already preparing for STEP :s-smilie:

King's is known for being very politically active and left wing.

Right up my street

Has anyone heard anything from them yet??

Nope, but still checking email and refreshing this http://www.kings.cam.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/applicant-information.html too often. Maths is a big dept. so will probably take longer than other courses.

Know that feeling, have been refreshing constantly since yesterday! Hoping they start sending invites/rejections out soon, but NatSci is a pretty big departement I guess. :s-smilie:

So do students applying to smaller departments, let's say (taking a completely random example) pbs, usually get replies earlier?

Haha I guess in the completely random case of pbs, yes, but in the end it depends on the speed of the admissions staff.

Just checked my email, saw something with King's in the title, turns out to be a TSR email that people have replied to this thread. Still didn't stop my heart from skipping a beat

Hopefully they'll start soon... Those flight prices are really making me nervous, and I don't even have to travel THAT far

Haha I know the feeling

Seriously though, have they not even started sending out stuff? I really hope they don't leave it too late...

Where would you guys be flying from? Provided I get an invite, I'll be flying through Amsterdam. Really hope I don't have to fly on Monday or Friday, those days are twice as expensive. Prices between 70€ and 120€ now

Would be flying from Copenhagen! Haven't looked at the prices yet though, just hoping it won't be too expensive!

I have no idea if it's any easier or cheaper - but maybe also look at Eurostar.

Ooh those numbers make me cringe :s-smilie:. We'll just have to wait. It is cool to see so many EU applicants
