I can't make up my mind where would it be better to go, Exeter or Southampton, for Medical Science course. Both unis are quite similar and both are great, so can anyone give some details about them (like pros and cons to compare)? Thanks a lot!

Without a question, Exeter.
Numbers don't lie:

Southampton ranks 94 in the world while Exeter ranks 161.

For medicine Southampton is 100-151 while Exeter is somewhere between 251-300.

And a small detail:
Southampton to London- 1:15 by train.
Exeter to London- 2:40 by train.
*In general,Healthcare Conferences are taking place in London.

The facts:

The Times and Sunday Times
Exeter 8
Southampton 20

Guardian
Exeter 12
Southampton 19

Guardian Medicine
Exeter 14
Southampton 22

Complete University Guide
Exeter 11
Southampton 14

Complete University Guide Medicine
Exeter 15
Southampton 31

Student Satisfaction
Exeter Top 10 (number 1 for International students)

However the most worrying thing, is that in Aug. 2014, Southampton had more courses in clearing than any other University in the top 20. That is a big red flag in my book.

Exeter has almost no chemistry department after they closed their courses (and chucked the students out part way through) in 2005. If you want lab experience then you'll have more access to a wider rannge of kit at Southampton
