Too late for me, but I wanted to share this good news with all of you. You do not have to pay anything other than your air fare and you can do a summer internship absolutely free with one of 329 MNCs operating in China, including 103 Fortune 500 Companies.

BUT, do not expect to get hired from these huge companies unless you already have graduated with your degree since you are not allowed to work in China with out at least a bachelor degree. You must also be willing to learn Chinese. Even if you have that degree only 28% of China MNC and Fortune 500 company interns receive job offers if you satisfactorily complete a 90 day internship.

I was ignorant an gullible three years ago when I paid over $3,000 to some broker in China who sold me a China internship. Now I know better. You can only get these prime internships directly from the HR people of the actual companies. They all have "Intern Coordinators" and that is who you need to contact. How? See here for details http://chinainternshipreviews.wordpress.com and be thorough and sincere in your cover letter.

Ignore all the "Work in China" ads you see online. I have been living in China for 3.5 years now and can tell you 99% of those ads are all scams. I suggest you also read these two links that tell you how to avoid scams in China and how to spot all the fake internships offered in China through third parties:
