Yep! And it's almost impossible not to run your tongue along them once every minute.....
You'll get used to them in a couple of days, just bask in the happiness that you don't have any metal in your mouth anymore! (Unless you have a night-time retainer like me...but that's not the point!)

I had my braces off today after wearing them for a year and a half, and my teeth feel really weird! They look big and kind of like false teeth - maybe I'm just being paranoid but they don't feel like real teeth! Has anyone else noticed this when they first had their braces off?

awww yeah mine was like that for ages! I still maintain my teeth look really fake but I think it's just because of the straightness and the way they've been polished etc. You look fit for the red carpet lol with all the american stars!

nah you'll get used to it honestly :hugs:

yeah my teeth looked weird too, it was like they were too long for my mouth and I thought they look fake

Give it a few weeks and you won't even notice it, except you'll have a beautiful smile in place of the brace

I know the feeling! I got my brace off not that long ago and my teeth looked really strange. They looked huge and I was convinced that it looked like I had false teeth but now, a few weeks on, my teeth look normal again. It just takes getting used to. In a few weeks, you will forget all about it and become used to them.

Ah i felt like this too! But they arent really big or strange they just look different you will get use to it in a few days!
I felt like that too, I thought I looked awful and that my teeth before (which stuck out in different directions) looked better lol. You'll get used to them though and realise that they look really good and soo much nicer than before =P
Just a question to you all that have had your braces off in the past.

Did you drink fizzy drinks throughout the treatment? And basically eat and drink most things you are advised not to?

If so, what affect (if any) did it have on your teeth?
i ditto the above post lol iv had my brace on for about 4 years yes they messed up my treatment  and erm well i couldnt stop the drinking of fizzy pop etc etc so im pretty nervous about what iv done   posting anon cos im embarrased lol :p:

Can I take a closer look to marvel at your lovely teeth? Don't tell Fleece I just said that.
Drinking the odd fizzy drink while you have braces on doesn't make too much difference; it's only discouraged because having the braces makes it much harder to clean off the sugary residue. It's the same with sweets, eat too many when you have braces, and if you dont clean them thoroughly there's the chance of cavities etc, so just go a teeeny bit easy on the sugar! One or two shouldn't hurt though.

The worst thing I found were those Werthers originals, the toffee ones....they'd always rip the brace right off my teeth! But I kept eating them.:s-smilie:

During my journey I drank a lot of coffee and coke It stained my teeth and since drs cannot really do a deep cleaning cause of the metal present in my mouth I had to wait for a long time and got it done after my braces were removed , thankfully they didnot cause any permanent damage. I did eat nuts that were said I should not be eating but in my case , I brackets were sturdy My friends have had their brackets broken cause of eating hard food multiple times and some drs charge you for reapplying them cause obviously you did not listen and this has not increased everyone’s work I would advise to refrain from drinking things that you already know will affect your teeth and make this sacrifice worth Additionally it will make you healthy from within so it’s win win !
