I'm lookin at doing a little travelling in America for around a month and I'm wondering if there's any other ways of getting there besides flyin. Or if flying is the cheapest option is there any specialist agents that do cheap flights. Cheapest I can find it around £700 return.

Cheers

You might want to consider using this site: http://www.norwegian.com/en/. They provide pretty cheap flights to the US from Europe.

If you are a student, you might want to consider http://www.statravel.co.uk/ as well.

I'm flying into LA, and out of New York, and it costed £480. With Virgin Atlantic, booked through STA. How much have you budgeted for the month? I'm actually working at a camp but travelling for a month after, and have about 2k! Maybe I should've booked my flights after for a bit earlier!

Depends on the month, I'm flying to LA in July, which is the ridiculously expensive. I did some searching and I couldn't find anything cheaper than £700 return to California. East you could probably get for a lot cheaper.

I've just booked L.A. return for 450 through STA. I thought that was a bargain. That is June though. The prices shoot up as soon as you hit July and that's unavoidable.

Have a play with airports in the U.K. and U.S. if you're not bothered whereabouts you're going.

I'm lookin around the end of August till end of September which in hopin will be a bit cheaper.

I have a friend in Salt Lake City so I'm gunna go from there to Seattle-Portland-San Fran-LA-Vegas- back to salt lake. Got about 2k budgeted aswell but hopefully won't be spending all that.

I was also thinkin of other ways to travel like cargo ship or courier flights but ship looks to expensive and don't think they do courier flights anymore.

Icelandair do a deal for £700 return to Denver with stop over in Iceland which would be pretty good.

Good find!

That is an absolute bargain! American Airlines are usually very expensive. I will look into that. I am very fortunate, I have...'connections' with a major airline so flights are free for me, but I am looking to help out some friends who want to travel Cali as well.

Lucky you! I wish I had a connection that could get me free flights to places!

I'm unable to send you the link to the booking site since it refuses to do so, but I'm sure they will be able to get the same fare if they search it up online.

I found some pretty cheap flights at around £560 with British Airways and American Airlines, but it depends on your flexibility and the duration you would like to stay in the US. Just mess around with the dates to see if you could find any cheaper flights.
