Hello! I'm currently writing my draft for my English poetry controlled assessment and I've come across a huge mind block! We have to analyse two poems and explore how they each show commitment. We'd been told not to compare them but to analyse them separately. The poems I chose to do are Valentine, by Carol Ann Duffy and Sonnet 18 by Shakespeare. I've finished my analysis for Valentine and I'm pretty confident with it. However, now I have come to sonnet 18 and all I can find is Shakespeare conveying how beautiful his lover is! I don't understand how I can link it to commitment. I'm targeted an A! any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thankyou
