Been itching to watch some films similar to The Mummy or As Above so Below in terms of mythology, archaology and adventure.

I really like the whole puzzle solving aspect, discovery and ancient mythology and history that are intertwined into them.

Can anyone think of any less well known films that have similar themes? Been searching online but only coming up with terrible IMDB 2 star rated nonsense.

I've seen all the obvious well known ones like Indiana Jones and the national treasure films.

The Lara Croft/Tomb Raider films? Dan Brown's film adaptations like the Da Vinci Code/Angels & Demons?

Cannibal Holocaust is pretty good
Wrong Turn 2 explores ancient Egyptian mythology, worth a watch

Haha, sorry, didn't read the last line of your post! :')
Angels & Demons is definitely a lot better than DVC!

I'm not sure what else there is, tbh!

It kind of sucks how there don't seem to be many good films in the genre

I just watched The pyramid, it was entertaining but not exactly a cinematic masterpiece.

Aw!
It does suck, tbh! I love archaeological history and all this stuff surrounding artefacts and whatnot...didn't realise there was actually so little on it?! Then again, I tend to read books/play video games in this genre.

I'm on the hunt for something good now, haha!

There is a miniseries called The Labyrinth - worth checking that out, it's pretty good! It parallels two women (one in the medieval time, one in the modern), both looking for the Holy Grail!
