Mechanical Engineering, Melbourne vs Bath

I have firmed an offer to study Mechanical Engineering at Bath and in August, I will have the option to apply to Melbourne to study Engineering as my family are moving to Australia at the end of the year and I may have permanent residency in August. I'm having trouble making a choice between the two universities as its very difficult to compare. I was also wondering what kind of grades I would realistically need to get into Melbourne, as I have been told I'd need the equivalent of BCC and I was shocked considering I need A*AA at Bath, is this true or would I realistically need much higher grades than that?
Hi Haydar,

I hope you are well.

I can double confirm that The University of Melbourne guarantees admission to a course when an international student achieves the required score as listed on the link below (and has met the course prerequisites, has achieved the required grades in specified prerequisite subjects and has satisfied the English language requirements and there are still places in the course at the time of acceptance)

You can view these scores here:

I hope that helps!

Be aware that 'right of residence' does not necessarily mean you will qualify as a Home (ie. Australian) student - this may mean you have to pay overseas fees or wait until you qualify. And funding is entirely different in Australia. It may not be quite as simple as you assume - http://studyassist.gov.au/sites/StudyAssist/ You'd probably be better off doing your degree at Bath and doing postgard in Australia later.
