Just today my literature teacher tell us that we will have an essay on Othello two days later (not much time I know). I know I suck at literature but I want to improve. Yet I don't know how exactly.

I am not studying for GCSE, by the way.

I hope anyone who studies literature/have friends studying literature can help out.

1. How do you revise for Othello? I studied well for Lord of the Flies yet I don't know why I cannot do the same for Othello.

2. How do you start off when writing the essays? Say for 'Discuss XXX', 'Comment on XXX', what would you write for your introduction? (I don't know if it is called introduction...) Every time my teacher says my beginning is awful.

3. Have you come across any common essay questions for Othello? The questions' types my teacher sets are a lot different from what I find online.

Thank you for your help!
