Hi there, I am currently in school at GCSE level and am wondering what I should take for my A-levels. I am interested in being something to do with the law industry such as a police officer or a probation officer. Forensics also appeals to me too. Annyyywayy, i was wondering if it is mandatory for me to take sociology. What are your opinions of it? Any opinions on A-level law fir these jobs is appreciate too

Hi there!
If you want to go into law, sociology and psychology would be good options as, if you're on the same exam boards as me, we study forensics in psychology and crime and deviance in sociology. Both of these would be handy, but not essential! Even if they aren''t essential they are still very interestng!

I don't know what exam board it will be in my local college as it is different from the board at my school which is WJEC. I would love to take Psychology but unfortunately I was put into a BTEC science class in Year 10 and people have told me that they do not take on BTEC students. I know that I definitely want to take sociology

Aha okayy, ahhh that's a shame! Sociology is probably better for law-related jobs anyway because you learn about social policy and stuff like that. Just cross your fingers that you do the crime and deviance unit because it would be perfect for you!
