The Student Room Group

Benefits and Student finance help!

My mum and I have been trying to fill out my mothers section of the student finance form now for over a month!! we just cannot get our heads around it and are being constantly told different pieces of information from different people.

My mum worked for half of the tax year 2013/2014 then was taken ill for the other half with a back injury and depression.

on the form do we put the amount of statutory sick pay she recieved in that 6 months, or do we not because it was not taxable income??

any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi there,

We would require your mum to declare all taxable income from the 13/14 tax year, unfortunately, statutory sick pay is classed as taxable income so will have to be included on the form.

Thanks

Hi again,

Sick pay from her employer IS statutory sick pay.

Thanks.
