Well, for starters, change your attitude towards things. Try and see the positive side of things rather than the negative ones. Secondly, maybe you should try and find a partner? Love is something that always takes sadness, hatred, etc... away from someone.

All the best!

always look on the bright side of life . . .
everytime you have a negative though, pinch or hit yourself. you brain will associate negative thoughs with pain, voila, happy thoughts. just try to see the best in people, help other people, do things you enjoy.

I wouldn't suggest going to a counsellor unless there is a serious problem. Simply being a negative person who has a hard time having a laugh is not a serious problem. Counselling is not a magic solution, and usually the very nature of it means you get worse before you get better, so I wouldn't recommend it unless things are really bad.

Try out some sports and maybe join a club. That meant to take out stress and put a smile on your face.

2 parts frog's testicles, blended with snail shells, albino giraffe skin and some MDF and inject into your retinas and that is the key to happiness.

(God, i'm so bored and frustrated :frown:)

"Happiness isn't a destination, just a means of travel" - that can be interpreted in a few ways i thought but i guess it's what you make of it.

keep a happy book? write down happy stuff in it?

go out more, take lots of photos, make a scrapbook.

do volunteering. helping people makes you happy and appreciative of what you have.

surround yourself with friends who make you laugh and feel good about yourself. Do things that make you happy. Keep active! Inacitivity is a sure road to dwelling on negative thoughts.

also watch Harold and Maude. trust me it will cheer you up and change the way you think about things!

Think positive! It's good that you want to change. I was like this, but maybe without the moaning, I was just often dull and without any energy. I wanted to change so (it may sound stupid) watched more comedy on the TV and began laughing lots. I searched on the internet for jokes too on my spare time. Anyway because I was laughing more, I was more cheerful and I haven't been moody/down for a few weeks now!

Pretend to be happy(ish). i.e. don't moan even if your thoughts are still cynical.

That way people will want to be around you more.

That will actually make you happier
