Ok i was drinking snake bite since christmas eve(only stopped when i slept :biggrin:

ma mum says there banned anyone actually know why?

Some places don't serve them. I think it's because people tend to get very wasted on them and can become violent.

My bar manager, who has never been to university, believes that we don't sell snakey B because it contains so many miligrams of alcohol. Absolute donkey dick, if it's half carling and half strongbow how come we are allowed to sell pints of Bow but not Snakey B :rolleyes:

Fleece, the same can be said of stella, not banned yet though is it?

Fair one Fleece, Snakey does affect me in a different way to other alcohol I have found, I can drink it a lot quicker that anything else too due to the fact it tastes like ribena.

Something to do with cocktail licensing... it's effectively mixing two different alcoholic substances.

Snakey B is delish. If it's against certain licensing then can you just ask for half a pint of each (and blackcurrent of course) and a pint glass? In the bar I work in I was told I couldn't sell a drink with more than 70ml of a standard spirit, but I could happily sell someone x doubles and they can mix them or do whatever the hell they want with them.

Our halls of residence bars say they have permission to serve them, which I can't understand personally, as cider and lager mixed like that do make for a lethal combination. However, whilst it is illegal for them to be served in the same glass, one may ask for half a pint of cider and half a pint of lager in separate glasses, then mix them oneself.

Something similar came up a while ago (read: when I was a n00b) and it was decided that it was to do with measured pumps or cocktail licenses or something. So if you're incredibly bored, go and search for that thread!

yea snake bite is nice specially with vodka in

mom told me that if i went to a bar got point of larger and half point of cider drank half the larger then tipped cider in i can get kicked out :redface:

i mean other things can turn people violent yet they dont ban then :frown:

The only place I've found not to serve Snakebite in Chester is Wetherspoons. One place does Snakebite for a quid on Mondays and Wednesdays. Great stuff.

I've been told it's to do with licensing laws too. A public house, :rolleyes:

, can't serve a mixture of two pumps drinks or some guff like that.

You are completely fine to order two half pint and ask for a pint glass with black in it. If you are that way inclined I guess, though I would hope no-one was that desperate for snakebite. :\

I heard it is illegal but not enforced.(this made little sense to me) I stopped ordering it when I heard it was illegal as I thought no point, then I saw someone getting a snakebite black in a bar next to me and they did it properly, other times i've heard they just give you strongbow black if you ask for it and they can't serve the real snakebite.
