I was always told to give my answer to 2 significant figures whenever I used g since it is only given to 2.s.f but I am seeing final answers in mark schemes given to 3.s.f despite the use of g. I was just wondering if I will ever be penalised for giving my answer to 3.s.f despite using g - or if I give my answer to 2.s.f when using g and the mark scheme has it's final answer to 2.

    Thanks.

In maths I always use 3sf (that is if I can't give an exact value), unless it's probability then I would use 4-5dp. I doubt you would be penalised for using 3sf!
