I currently hold an offer to read History at Oxford - the conditions are AAA, which I should be able to meet (in English, History, Art). However, I'm slightly worried I might slip up and get a high B in Art... On UCAS they say most unis don't directly reject you if you miss out that closely - any ideas about Somerville College, Oxford? I already have an A* from doing a language fas-track, but do I have any hope of getting in if I do worse in Art than hoped...?

    Thank you!

Very doubtful, get an A in art

It's an easy subject to get an A in anyway, just ask your teacher what you need to do in order to secure the grade, and then do what they say (afterall, they mark it)

I'm no expert, but I think it would depend on how many other people meet or don't meet their offers.

And, since it's Oxford, I think most people are going to meet their offers, so I doubt they'd bargain.

So you predict an A*AAB result, including the language, and your offer is AAA.
As long as the B (Art) is not included in your offer, you shouldbe accepted with the A*AA.

They don't tend to negotiate offers.

This is generally only applicable for mathematics applicants to either Cambridge, Warwick or UCL. For other subjects most people meet their offers so I find it unlikely that they will bargain.

And even that is a negotiation surrounding STEP.
