Hello, I am currently studying my A levels and am in year 12, aged 17. Alongside my education, i set up and run my own organisation campaigning for peace human rights, justice and education around the world. For this, i have also visited Auschwitz in the past 2 months. I have gained international recognition for this work, have been nominated for the international children peace prize 2015 award. I have also been invited to 10 downing street recently by the Prime minister at a reception. A few months ago, i was also invited to address the house of lords, where i addressed all the lords. I am leading a campaign now to build a few schools and provide education to those who are unfortunate around the world. So far, i have gained letters of support from 25 MP's and many government ministers. You can view more about my work on our website: Movementforpeaceglobal.org.
I also have work experience by working in the office of my local Member of Parliament.

As well as my work through activism, i have terrible GCSE grades, i got 2A's and 5 C's, A's only in IT and urdu. At AS, i am studying IT, Urdu, Applied science and business studies. I think that i may get BBBC or ABBC a AS level so probably will be predicted A*AB or AAB. I have had a child long dream to get to study PPE as i have immense passion for that subject. Would Birmingham take a look at my work and leadership away from my academics and consider me for PPE. What are my actual chances of getting into PPE at Birmingham? Would it be worth me applying to Birmingham? What are the minimum grades that i must achieve at As level or A level to make sure that i get an unconditional offer from Birmingham? Thank you.

I go to Birmingham and study International relations but did ir and politics in first year. I remember when I applied they were giving away unconditional offers for people with 3 A's predicted. Not sure if they still do that. Other than that I don't know of other ways to get an unconditional. If you just miss the grades you need they will still accept because of your other achievements. I know this because I needed ABB and got ABC. I did an EPQ, volunteered abroad a couple of times and showed an interest in international development. I know many who missed the grades but this wasn't in PPE which is considered competitive I think. If you miss the grades by a lot I don't think you will get accepted.

What grades do you need to do PPE?

Hello Suhofficial, I am a second year student at the university of Birmingham. The experience you have sounds fantastic and I think if you can translate that into a personal statement directly relating to the PPE course it will stand you in good stead. The current offer requirements on the Univeristy of Birmingham website for PPE is AAB with a requirement of a grade B in maths at GCSE. I think it's important to be realistic with what you think you can achieve and apply to universities you know you'll be happy at and enjoy the course. This will save you a lot of stress which during a levels I'm sure you're feeling already. If you have any questions about your GCSEs grades and predicted grades I would recommend contacting the undergraduate office for PPE and asking their opinion. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask me Eleanor
