If you spent your first year just trying to pass, then forget that mentality and actually work hard. I was fortunate enough to not find 2nd year too different to first year because I started working hard right from the get go. My peers really struggled because there was quite a jump in the content and requirements and most people had just done enough to pass.
If you have access to your reading list (the uni might not have already printed it, but our uni library has a feature that lets you access the course reading from the last few years, so that is a good guide) then make a start on the reading. I'm not saying spend your entire summer in the books, but if you can start your reading early, it'll make getting the work done a lot easier and save you time in the long run.
