Has anyone completed a course doing multi skill electrical and mechanical engineering as part of an apprenticeship? The plan is to do this course then do a HNC electrical/mechanical, and i plan on doing uni afterwards with industry experience.

Im 25, so some would say a little old to be an apprentice learning my first trade, but so far it been very rewarding, i am just hoping it will be enough to perhaps progress on and get a degree.

    Thanks

Yep that's what I do. 4 year apprenticeship. Years one and two is the BTEC. Years 3&4 is the HNC. NVQ is completed at work between year 2&4. It IS a rewarding scheme if you put the effort in. Make sure you do you end of your 2 project EARLY as it will catch up on you. Also, the HNC is a LOT harder than the BTEC. Make friends with some smart people and pay attention or else you will fail.

It's a great scheme and I also hope to go to university when I finish my HNC but that's a long way off yet, I still have another 15 months to go. Keep plugging away, time flies by when you're in full time education. Best of luck. You can message me if you need any help with course content or more personal questions.
