How harshly are they marked? I know a lot of my seniors who are extremely good students came out with at least one B in their AS exams last year. I'm not as brilliant as them but I'm alright. I'm mailny taking about Biology, Chemistry and Physics Edexcel. Thanks

Physics marking is exactly how the mark scheme says, they are very specific about saying exactly what is said on the mark scheme in order to get marks in written parts, in calculations as long as you get correct answer it is fine. However physics grade boundaries are stupidly low for this reason. I cannot speak for the other exams, maths is lenient if you are doing that.

No worries, physics at A level requires no understanding, learn the mark scheme and get full marks! This however is not the case for maths.
