3. Seriously guys, do you not make a mental note when you see 'End of Questions' or even check that there isnt a question on the back page? Which there wasnt, by the way. The archbishop of banterbury is stringing you along

I did it but it was sooooo hard! Loads of people I spoke to didn't do it either!

7 = 5x^2 - 4x - 1 ==> 5x^2 - 4x - 8 x = 0 ==> (4 + 4*root(176))/10 = (4 + 4*root(11))/10

Which then simplifies to (2 + 2*root(11))/5 but I forgot that bit in the exam. Plus that's just the positive root. Read the above discussion about whether the negative one was needed. I personally found both but then said to discount the negative one but don't know if that is correct.
Oh noo! I'm so stupid, for some ridiculous reason I did 2+sqrt-144 / 5

Why I ever thought to do 16-160 is beyond me....

What do you reckon is the most amount of marks I could get for that question?

Urmmm there was... Did you not do the proof question?!
7. (Original post by DOPECYCLIST)
you need the use the discriminant (b^2 - 4ac<0) to determine the fact that it doesn't cross the x axis
No you don't as you found the minimum point of the curve prior to this and the y-value was 1 thus is doesn't cross the x - axis?
8. For the one where you had to factorise f(x) did anyone get (x+1) (x+1) (x+6)
I then made it to (x+1)^2 (x+6)
Was I right in doing so? D:
