because girls are people just like guys are? You can be friends with a girl the exact same way you would be with a guy. I think I've got a fairly even mix of male and female friends, and none of them use me as an 'emotional tampon'

(obviously you do but ill explain) This guy, like most other guys, wants to either have sex, or get a girlfriend. he already has friends (many of which may be female), so he doesnt need to go out and make friends just for the sake of having a new friend. hes asked for advice on how to go about doing this, and you have been very unhepful. also, the way in which you worded your comment makes it sound like you're talking down to him which also isnt great.
