# OCR (not MEI) C1 - Wednesday 13th May 2015 watch

y = 5 - 2x
Sub in to x2 - y2 = 3

x2 - (5 - 2x)2 =3 M1
x2 - (25 - 20x + 4x2) = 3 A1
x2 - 25 + 20x - 4x2 = 3
-3x2 + 20x - 28 = 0 A1
3x2 - 20x + 28 = 0
3x2 - 6x - 14x + 28 = 0

(3x - 14)(x - 2) = 0 M1
x = 2 or 14/3 A1
y = 1 or -13/3 A1

This is likely to be the allocation of marks for this question.
It was 5 marks wasn't it?

I hope I pick up method marks for those I got wrong.
Oh well, I can hope to do well in C2 and S1.
Worst case scenario, you get a B in C1 (70 UMS).

You need 240 UMS for an A so you need to get 85 UMS in C2 and S1.

I did this too and according to my teacher, we won't lose marks since we got the actual question right.

Thank God!!!
10. I did this paper how did people find it
11. Does Mr M release anything for OCR as a mark scheme? If so, anyone want to hazard a guess as for when?

No it's 1/48 as it's -1/3 x -1/16 which is a plus
the third route of -8 is -2, -2^4 is positive 16, as it was 1/16 x -1/3 it was -1/48,
14. Okay, can someone just clarify this:

stretch, scale factor 1/3 in the y-direction.

Wrong or right? There are so many different answers, i'm confused
15. Guesses on 90 UMS mark?
16. What grade do you guys think I'll be looking at if I lost 9 marks worst case scenario?

Really??? I resat this year and thought it was harder than last year, although I think I got everything right because I actually bothered to revise this time around.
