    a likely (or possible) topic for wednesdays exam is wolseys foreign policy - what kind of aspects would be included in a 24 mark question along the lines of 'how successful was wolseys foreign policy between the years 1513-1529' - and how would points such as the accession of Francis I be related to success/failure in FP?

    Thanks so much!! Was the battle of pavia a failure because France who he was backing got defeated?

    No because after Pavia the power balance diplomacy was majorly disrupted as Charles captured Milan and Francis himself, so there was no hope of annulment as Charles was CofA nephew. Henry wanted renewed activity with Charles but failed to raise enough money (through amicable grant), Charles lost interest with Henry and first time wosley failed to serve Henry!
