    When finding coordinates, when the tangent is parrallel. How do i know which x coordiantes to sub in to find the y coordinate?

    When finding a y coordinate don't you just sub x=0? Do you have an example question and I will take a look for you?

    Your question is vague but I think I can guess what you mean.
    If you are given that the tangent at P is parallel to the line with equation y=mx+c.......
    You know the gradient of the tangent is m
    Differentiate the curve equation and solve for when it equals the gradient of the tangent
