It is 400x magnified, I'm 100% sure
mm i do think ur right!! neva mind as i sed we mite get one mark or sumthin
2. (Original post by Coolcrisp)
Wait how could u do quadrats when there was no square shape to throw down? I'm also confused about how the leaves were on trees, and what the tape measure was used for.
Was a transect the point?
yup transect is a point I think

For the magnification question:

0.1mm (scale) = 4cm

4cm = 40mm

40/0.1 = 400

Anyone else get this?
i multiplied 0.1mm by ten to get 1mm
then by 10 to get 10mm/1cm

but i forgot to multiply by four so i ended up writing 100. do you think ill get any marks? honestly.
4. for magnification was it x40 or x400, because i got x40
5. Here's my unofficial mark scheme of both units.

i got x40 too, but im p sure it was x400. needed to convert mm into cm by multipying the answer by 10
7. i thought id gotten like 40/60 but now hmm i dont know

What do u think the grade boundaries will be ?? For b2 and b3

Also what our questions came up?
The graphs we had to sketch for b3. question about ventilation (the balloon). The question about replacing heart valves

Grade boundaries are probably going to be low due to the difficult paper but im not sure exactly.

What was those graphs supposed to look like ?

For the glucose one I did a straight horizontal line. For the urea one, I did a line going down.

For the urea graph, did you do a curved or straight line?

I did a straight line but I think curve is correct
13. I put 4000 for the magnification but it was 40 I think or 400, I wrote 400 as well because I thought it was that, I know my biology but that had hardly anything to do with biology, so maybe the chemistry is on physics!!!

Same it must be a curve because the concentration gradient will eventually decrease.

I wrote 4000 but did that working as well!!

I basically did this line \ for the urea one and this for the glucose ----
17. Glucose was flat and urea was meant to be an inwardly curved line from 28 to 0

No, I put I curve but I realise I'm wrong. With dialysis, the urea is flown away and out of the dialysis fluid meaning that the concentration gradient stays constant so you are indeed CORRECT!

Balloon question? I didn't see that or we may have done a different paper.

What did people put for the ratio?
3:1 👍👍
