Can someone just give me a basic overview? That you need to know for C1?

I'm over thinking them, and muddling it up for myself.

If you've got function in a similar form to f(x)=\frac{1}{g(x)} then any x that makes the denominator g(x)=0 is an asymptote of f(x). Because dividing by zero is undefined.

Asymptotes are where a function rapidly approaches infinity or negative infinity. Just find the points that make the denominator in a fraction in a function equal to zero.
