My teacher is convinced it will be a question on the gothic theme, smaller characters in the novel (Bertha, St. John etc.) or representation of male characters! These would all make strong essays and they don't think they will end this set of texts without doing one of them at least! I personally think the gothic theme will come up, there's a lot to write about

The role of minor characters was mentioned by my teacher too. For an essay on men you could contrast St John with Mr Broclehurst, or even John Reed, as well as bringing in Rochester. Personally I am hoping for a question on religion!
