Hmm its strange that it was only three marks, cause there will be a mark for using sin^2=1-cos^2x, I would have thought there would have been more if you had to actually form a quadratic to find cos x! Rather than put 4cos^2x-cos x = k as I did!
I worked out with one of my teachers that if i get almost 100% on S1 and scrape a C today there's still a possibility of an A. So, let's hope stats goes well I don't think I can handle another bad exam.
Looking at the answers above the lowest i may have got in a worst case scenario with no method marks is 65, but given that I probably got a few method marks, id say the highest is 70.
For the factorisation question who got a = -16 and b = -32 ?
I then went on to factorise it, and even though 2x+1 was a factor I ended up getting a horrible answer.
a = -16 and b = -32 I believe this to be wrong, if you sub it back in it doesn't work for one of the equations. I got your answer first time round, but fixed it second time round. I divided my simultaneous equations and believe -48, -96 is correct.

I thought exactly the same thing, so we made the same mistake
