Do I NEED to consume 1500 calories a day if I want to lose weight? Apparently if I don't I would go into starvation mode and I'll gain weight instead?

    I'm a little confused

Calculate your TDEE, I.e total daily energy expenditure and then take 500 calories off that - if you eat that amount you should lose roughly a lb a day.

Look at the FAQ on the main fitness page, it's stickied

Thank you! All the info was helpful
Would it be healthy to cut 1000 calories or more?

(Btw I think you meant a lb a week)
