Personally, I wouldn't call that question tough because we should already know how to do a flame test since it even comes in the 3B paper and thiosulfate is mentioned in earlier units as well.

I found parts of the titration and electrode potential question harder.

Guys i'm confused. What exactly is the condition for the iodoform test? In some books it says that the compound needs to have a methyl carbonyl group attached whereas some say that secondary alcohols can also react.

both tbh, I have also seen a one where a positive result was given due to a CH3-HC=0-CH3 a ketone

I was told that it is specific to 'organic compounds containing a methyl group next to a carbonyl group OR compounds that can react to give a methyl group next to a carbonyl group'.

So ethanal is the only aldehyde that can have a positive test, and all METHYL ketones will give a positive test as well.

Also ethanol can be oxidized to give ethanal by the iodine hence the test would be positive for it along with other METHYL alcohols, such as propan-2-ol? (Someone needs to confirm this part though.)
