Anon because I'm scared someone will recognise me. Basically I'm in uni and in order to make some more friends I've decided to get more involved with our musical theatre society by joining choir. The problem is I commented on a post in the group asking if I was still able to join and never got a response. Someone liked it but I don't know if thats an ok or not. I then tried messaging the guy who runs it (this was a fair few days ago and he saw it but never responded). I don't know whether to go. I'm scared of them being like "who the hell are you? Go away." Advice?

Go! You can always still join a choir.

If you are that sensitive how are you going to perform?

most uni societies get funding through the union. Most will be funded on a per member basis so will take everybody, but also may not be permitted to refuse entry. Ok so they probably can throw people out because they are bad, but inclusivity is quite possibly tied into their existance
