    hi everyone,

I'm new to this site, In sept I'm going to start my foundation degree however I'm not sure what loans/grants I might receive and how we'll cope financially. I have a son whose 8 and my partner earns about £23.000 per year. Will I be entitled to anything in our situation other than the having the tuition fees covered.

    thanks in advance.

    Hi there.

As long as you are a UK national, you are likely to be entitled to the maximum level of support for a household income of under £25,000. The following will give a rough breakdown of what you will be entitled to:

Tuition fees of up to £9,000

    Maintenance loan of around £4,000

    Maintenance grants of £3,387

Parent’s learning allowance of up to £1,508·

And 85% of childcare costs, up to £155 a week based on one child.

    Thanks.

    Hi there.

We suggest new students apply by the end of this month. You don't have to wait to have a definite offer, you can still apply to us without having this 100% confirmed. It allows us to make a full assessment in the meantime and offer you an award before you actually begin.

    Thanks.
