    I'm doing AQA A2 chemistry, and I'm wondering how to do anhydride reaction - do you treat them as having been hydrolysed before they react?

    It doesn't matter anymore, but for anyone else wondering, I've drawn (poorly :P) a representation of the stages which, from researching elsewhere, seem to be correct.
