    Hello everyone!
So I was waitlisted at the Courtauld institute of Art (I can only hold out for them so long!), but in the interim I have received offers from Sotheby's Institute of Art and UCL. Is anyone else facing similar choices?
Any and all advice is welcome

congrats on the offers from sotheby's and UCL!

that said, courtauld is much more prestigious and competitive than those two so if you can wait i definitely would.

also, sotheby's is wildly expensive and admits a lot of foreign/non UK students who don't need any funding so i don't think the academic standard is remotely close to UCL or especially to the courtauld.

which specialist option/tutor are you waiting on? the courtauld isn't so great with their admissions notifications. they kind of leave it up to the individual tutors to tell their respective students whenever. if you have a relationship or established rapport with the tutor you could contact them directly and very briefly explain your situation. or if you want to message me privately with the tutor's name i could tell you if i think it would be worth your getting in touch with them.

i have 2 mates who were rejected from the courtauld and are now at UCL, they seem happy enough but again, i'd wait for the shot at that brass ring if i were you.

Yea, I'm definitely leaning towards UCL.
I am on the waitlist for Mignon Nixon's Sex and Violence, but she's leaving the Courtauld for UCL so I'm not even sure if that option exists anymore/what I am waiting for.

I was torn between UCL and Courtauld also! I'm just dubious about the social side of going to Courtauld; I haven't been able to find any freshers event etc. That said the prestige of The Courtauld was enough to convince me. Does anyone have a better outlook of what Freshers week is like for Courtauld students and if they are able to join other university's events i.e Goldsmiths or UCL

    Thanks

I also thought about the social side- but I think we share the student union with other Uni of London students, e.g. people from UCL, LSE etc. so I'm assuming it'll just be like that?
