There's a well known gay club in the city, NG1 i think it's called. The uni has a LBGT society as well. That's about all i know. xx

I think the LGBT society is pretty active. I know they had a Christmas Party because I was potentially going to help DJ until I was forbidden by my girlfriend. But as far as I can tell, there seems to be a fairly large one here and there are quite of lot of in the alternative scene too.
The buggers had their social in ocean once and I didn't realise I was on the podium with them until one of them wispered in my ear, away I ran.

Why were you forbidden by your girlfriend? :s-smilie:
Wow, homophobic or what!
what is this podium thing in Ocean?
Ahhh well the podiums aren't there any more, or so I'm told. But they're just raised dancing platforms (ocean is a nightclub) which I am known to frequent during a night of debauchery.

Oh no it isn't!

Come on, it's panto season (near enough).

And going back to the original thread... "He's behind you!" might also be appropriate....... yes, I will go and hide now.
hahaha come on who is emily ashfield lol.

'hes behind you' oh my how disgusting peh.
tbh the gay scene at notts seems a little underground! haha. i went there and tried to find it... gay people were easy enough to find there was one in the sex shop so i just asked him where i should go... and then when that place was crap i went to a gothic shop and there was a fag in there so i asked him lol. found an ok bar; but i have heard there is @d2 and NG1... seems aight, but none of them had pride flags it didn't seem all that welcoming. there's niche and oceano puts on a gay night every thursday. lol.

i think though all unis seem to have LGBT societies and there are so many people at notts so i'm sure you'll have enough bum fun whereveer you go! i live in london so i will deffo miss soho :frown: BUT what can you do  the music department is brill and people there seem nice.

The Foresters is a little lesbian pub which is usually only busy on Saturday nights between about 8 and 10, it's usually where people go to start off and get a bit drunk before they move on to better places. It's alright but not brilliant, gay men welcome, trans people welcome, straight people also welcome but there have been reports of straight people not getting served. If you go in the Victoria Centre at the main entrance near burger king and walk straight forward at the back of the centre there'll be a turn off to the right (in between a pound shop and a women's clothes store) walk down there and outside, cross the road and the Foresters is right next to you.

There's also Pink, Propaganda, The Lord Roberts, NG1 and @D2.

Pink is pretty easy to find but not that popular since Propaganda opened. It's a nice enough place and if you're part of an LGBT society or club then they generally put on events for you for free which is handy. It can get busy when people are waiting for NG1 to open or around 1am, before then it's a bit dead. Pretty good prices for drinks, good music, lesbian DJ. You can find Pink by walking towards Oceana (it's directly opposite) if you don't know where that is then go to the main entrance of the Victoria Centre but don't go in, turn right as you get to the entrance and just walk down that street keeping an eye out on the right and Pink is the building with bright pink/red lights round it, there's a pride flag hanging out the window too.
Also, go this way to find NG1 and @D2, instead of crossing the road over to Pink just keep on walking straight ahead, @D2 is right on the corner and NG1 is next door.

NG1 is a great place if you've got the money to get in, the music's great and there are 2 floors, upstairs is better for techno fans or rnb fans, downstairs is better for pop fans and cheesy music fans.
It's about £8 to get in after 11 on a Saturday but they have really good nights on Fridays and Sundays.

@D2 is a great place to go to wait for NG1 to open and the music is usually really up to date and the bar staff are lovely. Gender Neutral Toilets which is brilliant for anyone who doesn't define in to a specific gender group or simply doesnt want to use a gendered toilet. Prices are good and there's a stage where you can go up freely as you like. Popular place for trans people and drag queens because of the club management's accepting nature and there are drag nights every thursday i think.

Propaganda is one that's really out of the way, it's a small club but in my opinion it's the best gay club.
Free entry, fantastic prices on drinks great music, brilliant clubnights with Thursdays being Skirtlifter which is specifically for lesbians and bi women.
Friendly staff, great place to go to start off your night.
To find Propaganda you need to know Nottingham fairly well.
Go in to the town centre and find the town hall with the lions. If you're not familiar with Nottingham, go to the right lion and follow the tram tracks round until you see a steak house and a ski shop, go down the alley way and you'll be in a courtyard of New College Nottingham, walk through the courtyard and turn right, walk down that alley way and you'll hear Propaganda before you see it. It's in one of the Alley ways on the left.

Hope all of that helps  Sorry it was such an essay!
