    Does anyone have a plan for how to answer questions on the English Lit Unit 1 paper?

    This is a plan for Section A. Hope it helps!
    SECTION A: LITERARY HERITAGE
    Question (a) (8 marks)
    Always talk about the specified character.2 -3 paragraphs.
    Use at least 3 -4 quotes and analyse them (do not paraphrasethe quotes).
    Use quotes from extract ALWAYS.Do not talk about historical and social context.

    Question (b) (10marks)
    3 -4 paragraphs.
    ‘Comment’ means give SURFACE meaning.
    Use quotes from extract ALWAYS.
    Quotations: give DESCRIPTION and EFFECT.

    Question (c) (10marks)
    3 – 4 paragraphs.
    ‘Explore’ means give more meaning (analysis).
    (Can link to other parts of the novella – BUT do not give quotations from other parts).
    Give historical and social context.

    Question (d) (12marks)
    4 – 5 paragraphs.
    Use quotations from other parts of novel.
