For about a year or so I've been having this strange feeling that I'm being followed everywhere I go. When I'm cooking in the evening, I keep feeling a "warm breath" on my neck and it sends shivers down my spine! Also, when I'm walking at night, I keep hearing faint footsteps behind me but I know that there's nobody there. Quite recently I've been getting this "shifting" in the corner of my eye as if someone is standing in the corner of my room or running past my bedroom door. Tell me, am I going crazy?!

I've ran this through with my counsellor, and she said I've just got anxiety. Is it time to get a new counsellor?

Not sure if it's relevant, but I was diagnosed with depression a couple of years ago. I don't know if this is a sign that it's getting worse, or if it's something completely unrelated.

Depression can deteriorate into psychotic depression so that might be worth talking to a proper doctor/psychiatrist about rather than a counselor with no medical training.

I have schizoaffective disorder and when I'm deteriorating into an episode I experience similar symptoms. And, (from what I remember, it's been a while now) that was how things really started for me.

However, I'm only giving you a worse case scenario - severe anxiety can cause these kind of symptoms, but I would seek out help to avoid it getting worse if you can.
